Oubaku Tree Sangha

An Obon ceremony will be held on Sunday, September 22, at Pastorius Park in Chestnut Hill. See below for directions to the park. The ceremony will begin at 6:30 pm. I encourage everyone to consider making a floating lantern for the ceremony. It will be possible to make lanterns on Sunday mornings at the CA or at Pastorius Park at 5:30 pm. on Sunday, September 22. Those who participated in the ceremony last year found the ceremony to be a very meaningful experience. Families and friends are invited and welcome to participate.

The Oubaku Tree Sangha, a Zen Buddhist group under the leadership of Seijo Connie Evert, meets every Sunday morning for zazen (sitting meditation) at the Christian Association at the University of Pennsylvania located at 118 South 37th Street. Seijo is a Soto Zen priest in the lineage of Shunryu Suzuki roshi and received training at the San Francisco Zen Center. To participate please call 215-465-2677.
