Players: 4-10 supported Version: Final Compatibility: Unreal Tournament 3 (PC & PS3), Titan supported Description: Small-Medium Deathmatch map. Supports 4-10 players. There's a variety of close-combat areas, more open areas, z-axis fighting, and pretty views. Created with the intention of breaking Unreal 3's gritty look, while still keeping the level of detail that's expected with this generation's engine. Pretty standard fare for your system, nothing too outrageous so frames should be at a pretty high level. Double Damage, 50a and a keg are the powerups in the map. The rest of the weapons are scattered throughout. No custom texture work aside from taking advantage of the material editor, although many of the meshes are custom. I had my mind set on making a vibrant map from the get-go, although a late beta suggestion made me re-evaluate the color. It was changed from mid-day to late-day lighting, which in my opinion turned out for the better. The map is very warm and inviting but is still bright enough to show all the detail. I also set my sights on creating a map that isn't too distracting to the player. I opted against depth of field and overuse of bloom in favor of a sharper, clearer map. After reading through the Let's talk about DM game play thread, I got a few ideas for this map, specifically the fewer distractions idea. Video fly-through of the map below, available in HD.
